The Down Syndrome Program offers medical and developmental monitoring for children from birth to 3 years of age. Evaluations are provided every 4 to 6 months by an interdisciplinary team comprised of a developmental pediatrician, physical therapist, nutritionist, audiologist, speech pathologist, and social worker. Individual support is available for families, along with information, referral, and case management assistance.
Comprehensive Services are available for children, youths, and adults with Down syndrome on a continuing basis. These include specialized medical assessment and review for health maintenance; cognitive testing and behavioral psychology services; mental health services; long-term planning for families; and consultation regarding physical therapy, speech, hearing, and nutrition.

The Down Syndrome Program of HVMA aims to use the advantages of managed health care to meet the particular needs of children and families.
A central goal of the program is to help parents become active, effective members of their child's medical and educational teams.
